University of Michigan Loses to Appalachian State

Appalachian State Beats University of MichiganAppalachian State (ASU), a Division I-AA team, has defeated the fifth ranked college team in the nation - the University of Michigan Wolverines. The final score was Mountaineers 34 Wolverines 32. The Detroit Free Press calls it the upset of the century and that's no understatement.

Appalachian State had a 28-17 lead at halftime and almost lost it as Michigan tried to fight back. You can see the box score here on Yahoo Sports. Appalachian State's Armanti Edwards threw for 226 yards and three touchdowns to lead the ASU offense.

A Fox News article calls UofM unfocused. A Sporting News article calls the big University of Michigan loss a "not so upsetting upset." There's another article on the GoASU.com website.
